Because we cannot see everyone at this difficult time we have collected together 100s of resources, activities and links to help you at www.openmindslibrary.com

Thank you for your patience while Open Minds has set up the appropriate systems to offer counselling and support while our team works from home.

We have the appropriate policies and insurances in place and have created an online contract and referral form for people to read which explains what we can offer during Lockdown, and how it will work.

 https://forms.gle/Xmm4oa2Zcusu85ys6

We can offer you three options:

1) Online face to face counselling through video-calling via a dedicated email address

onlinetherapy@counsellingdoncaster.com

which your counsellor will use to contact you during sessions. The counsellors only have access to the zoom account during their session times and cannot access the emails, which will be monitored by the admin team.

2) Or we can offer telephone counselling. The counsellor would phone you once a week at an agreed time from a with-held number.

3) If you don't feel that online or telephone counselling will work for you we can also offer welfare check ins, wherein a member of Open Minds team (other than your counsellor) would contact you no more than once a week at an agreed time. This would be for up to 30 minutes by telephone to see how you are getting on, and if necessary and where possible signpost you to appropriate sources of support.

You can learn more about how these work through the document attached here.

If you would rather wait until after the pandemic when face to face therapy can resume, please simply wait for us to contact you once government guidelines  allow us to go back to normal working. We are very sorry but during the pandemic Open Minds are not in a position to provide in person face to face counselling to over 14s.  Only a limited number of our rooms can allow social distancing and we are prioritising under 14s for face to face therapy.

Our team are working remotely and can access emails Monday to Friday and will aim to answer the phone on weekdays between 10am and 3pm.

You can access support with financial, food, medical and other needs here:

In the meantime you can call the NHS on 01302566999, and the Samaritans on 116123,

and you can access help for your mental health online at

We wish you safety and good health

We are very sorry for any delay in contacting us.

We have 2 telephones and are also frequently contacted by e-mail for appointments,

this does mean that it can take a while to get through to us.

If you phone us on 07765 224564 and leave a message (or text that number) we are likely to respond sooner.

If you have left us an answerphone message,  text or e-mail and not heard back within a week we suggest phoning again.

We have more than 30 volunteer counsellors but despite our wonderful team of paid and volunteer counsellors we cannot employ enough counsellors to meet demand, and are very short staffed for office volunteers so please be patient;

we will get back to you as soon as we can

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

We are offering in person, telephone or online therapy to adults
