19th March 2020
We would like to take the opportunity to set out Open Minds’ position on managing the risk of Coronavirus.
Open Minds have taken the very difficult decision to suspend face to face counselling sessions for the time being.
Given the government's guidance on social distancing in order to limit the rate of spread of Covid19 we believe this is the correct response.
Our staff will work remotely wherever possible, which means we will only be able to respond to telephone calls and messages between 10am and 5pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
You can email us on and we will aim to respond Monday to Friday, as more of our team can access email than can answer the phone line.
We are also not accepting new referrals for counselling during this period as we are not in a position to triage, assess and allocate clients to therapy at present.
Please bear with us and we apologise for the inconvenience during this difficult time.
As soon as we are in a position to do so we will return to normal functioning. Thank you for your understanding and your kindness.
We are monitoring any developments to the situation and will provide updates where necessary.
